NEW LOCATION: ÁRÆÐI COLISEUM
Who: ANYONE
What: the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum
When: early November (pssh dates)
Where: Tyr's district
Rating: PG-13; please take anything higher than this to a private log!

Tyr volunteered himself to the task of creating a training facility for the Wanderers to explore the powers bestowed upon them by the gods. For the God of Courage and Diplomacy, however, there is far more to such a concept than the simple notion of magic. Today, he unveils the newest attraction in his district: the Áræði Coliseum, where mortals can come to test their mettle in a wide variety of fields.
In Leikrúnhöll, you can find a large facility of smooth, clean surfaces and user-friendly controls to be able to build the right environment to practice your magic safely in. Indestructible targets, magic- or sound-proof rooms, or any other equipment you might need is available by request.
In the Karasuno Courts, you'll find every field or court necessary to play many of Earth's most popular sports, including but by no means limited to football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, and whatever else you can think of! The necessary equipment is available and a healthy number of Asgardian natives are plenty interested in learning the rules.
But because that's not enough, not by a long shot, the rest of the Áræði Coliseum is filled with a vast assortment of bizarre challenges and gravity defying sports. There's even these strange, empty holes that many people seem to cautiously avoid for fear of whatever they may do. Whatever fun, weird, and potentially dangerous challenge you can think of can likely be found in the coliseum in some fashion. American Ninja Warrior courses? You betcha. Go wild with this one.
Tyr built this place to be fun yet challenging, strenuous but exciting, and most importantly: the more people there together, the better it is. Invite your friends to a race through an inflatable obstacle course or team up to show them who's really the best at badminton. Enjoy yourselves!
[ OOC NOTE: This is the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum, a new location in Tyr's district that will be available for use from this point forward! We have a bunch of other new locations being added all the time, so please do let us know if you have any questions or ideas!
And as a side note, we have an IC Q&A about the god powers happening here and an OOC Q&A about the god powers happening here if you need any help or have any question! ]

[Sports may perhaps be a little too much--he'll be worn out before whoever he's playing against has their fun, he's rather watch others play. Swimming might be nice, if by 'swimming' one means floating on a pool toy. Which he'll do at some point, forgoing any sort of swimsuit and keeping his regular outfit on. At least he's wearing new things?
But the most exciting of all: The black hole. He's not completely insane, he dropped an old useless coin in first, waiting for it to hit the bottom only to see it fly back out and land neatly on the floor. So of course the next step was to fling himself in! Can't die twice! (Ha ha...)
What it really needs is an audience. He fiddles around with his bracelet, waiting for someone to come along, and when they do... he gives them a grin then over the rim he goes! A minute or two later, he's slung back out of the blackness, managing to land on his feet as he flings his arms wide, sweeping off his ragged straw hat for extra... something.]
Tarán~! Haha!

Not thinking about it.
That's the real trick. Even if it's a dangerous one to attempt, right now.
But she's just shifted and she has to start somewhere, so she goes in search of distraction, rather quickly finding it in the form of a...
For a second, she almost thinks it's another one of those wights. But no. They never really smiled before. Or laughed, for that matter. She watches his stunt with no small amount of confusion. And when he sticks the landing, she supposes she ought to...clap? Sure. Why not?]
Well, that's...
[There are no words.]

[He plonks his hat back onto his skull. What bright, colorful face, though the markings are somewhat faded. Brown eyes too--he's not much like those blue eyed mindless undead at all!]
You want a turn? I think it's safe, it hasn't failed yet!

Not today yet, although it sure is getting close to there. Because Chizuru happens to be the spectator for his little stunt, and no matter how confident he's looking, to her it just seems like he's literally throwing himself in what seems like the darkest pit ever. The young woman shrieks when he does so, immediately jogging over to the side of the black hole and kneeling down next to it, trying to peer into it to see if she can spot the skeleton..
.. except then he's just spat out by it again.
The look on Chizuru's face is somewhere between disbelief and just being horrified. She can't even seem to make a sound, only stare directly at him. ]

[He chuckles a little, lowering his arms and toning the silly down a bit once he sees the look on her face. Oops...?] Relax, I'm fine. I don't know what the heck it is, but it's harmless.

He was not at all expecting to see the Skeleton Master Healer to fling himself into oblivion only to be spat back out.
He stares, body tense as he tries to calm himself. "What. Just Happened?"

Wei Wuxian | The Untamed | OTA!
There are places to practice one's magic, places to engage in sports - nearly all of them baffling, but entertaining to behold all the same - places to climb -
- and a large, chaotic village filled with unsteady flats and plains where one is meant to...bounce?
Wei Wuxian chooses this first, removing his shoes as is the custom and entering the odd bouncing city, testing the moving earth for a few moments before boisterously leaping onto the first giant red ball he finds. He jumps too hard and ricochets from it into a soft wall, laughing as this, too, sends him plummeting to the earth only to fly upwards again.
After exhausting himself in the bouncy city, Wei Wuxian ventures to one of the mysterious dark holes in the earth. Here and there he spies brave souls throwing themselves into them, only to fly out again. This is all very fine and exciting, but how much more fun would it be if one scaled the climbing wall and plummeted from there?
With both hands and one foot on the climbing wall footholds, Wei Wuxian studies the position of the nearest hole - and begins to climb.
[ooc: find him at any point in the Coliseum 8D]
Re: Wei Wuxian | The Untamed | OTA!
Lan Wangji has been lied to.
There is a terrible area full of surfaces that cannot be properly moved on and rooms with no purpose but to throw large balls through various hoops and one made entirely of ice which he cannot fathom the purpose of.
This may be the worst one, however.
"Wei Wuxian!" he shouts as he sees him ascending with no support and no safeguard. "No. Stop that."
no subject
Twisting to look over his shoulder, Wei Wuxian offers him a bright grin. "We're meant to," he says, even if he's not sure why. It's exercise, at any rate, and who knows when he'll next need to scale a wall. Lan Zhan should be grateful - given Wei Wuxian's penchant for rooftops, this is valuable training indeed!

"You going to jump from the top too?" He's grinning sideways at Wei Wuxian. "Whatever you do, don't miss."

Peter can only do this 3 times a day but he's having a blast figuring out to what extent he can go with his new power: conjuring elementals. He make a bonfire on the east side of the Áræði Coliseum (sorry Tyr) and after some concentration, the fire picks up and the elemental grows and emerges out of it.
It fills a 10-foot cube, looking like a bipedal dinosaur with muscular arms, body made of black and red molten lava. The eyes are two bright embers and there are spikes in flames along its back and the long tail. It's without a doubt how Godzilla would look if he were on fire and Peter lets out a rather high squeal of delight at the view.
"Oh, you look so great! Not bad for my first time doing this with fire, uh?" His familiar Sandy, perched on Peter's shoulder and with the shape of an Atlas moth, makes a chirring sound of agreement. "I'm going to call you Danny."
Vol2. As the Jurassic world turns
Fire Godzillas are cool but they pretty much can only destroy things, which is why the second time Peter is conjuring an elemental, he makes him (it's a he now, Peter has decided) rise from the ground. It's not much different than using his Celestial powers back when he had them. Instead of making a giant Pac Man, he goes for another lizard-like construct.
Five minutes later, Peter's riding a triceratops made of rocks and heading towards one of the obstacle courses. This will be epic, he's sure. Or perhaps a disaster but fun nonetheless.
"Okay, who's in for a race? Or a ride?"
no subject
Nevermind that she'd just finished the climbing wall, so she had the chance to be especially high up from the ground. That wasn't the same thing. There was also the adventure of riding such a beast through the course-that was certainly one way to go by it.
no subject
"Hop on then." He offered her a hand so it would be easier to get on top of the dinosaur. Danny even bent his legs a bit so she could climb him more easily. "Name's Peter Quill but across the Galaxy they know me as Star-Lord. Pleasure to meet you."

Vol1
She yanked her blindfold of when she heard a woosh and slipped up behind him to look at what was basically a fiery dragon... or dinosaur. That was amazing! Incredibly impressive. She giggled and just kind of went 'wow' at the sight of it. Far less good for investigating, but their powers had different directions with their powers, right?
"That is so cool! Do you think you'll get to summon something even bigger eventually?!?"

Felicity: OTA- will match format
In theory, Felicity knew she should train with her powers. They were given to her for a reason after all. Yet, her first ability was to hex people with bad luck, and she wasn't sure how she could test that out without seeing unfair.
Besides, the ball courts drew her attention more then the laboratories. She didn't know half the sports being played, but they looked fun and she hoped someone might teach her.
At some point, she found a tennis racket and ball. This was a game she knew of, and since she was allowed to wear trousers, was having a grand time serving the ball up and down the wall with her racket.
Having an actual partner would be even better of course.
coliseum
The obstacle courses are intimidating just to look at. Felicity didn't consider herself lazy and Jim had been working with her, but she's not sure she's strong enough for them just yet.
Instead, her eyes are on the climbing wall, with all its bumps and handles. One of the natives showed her how to strap herself into a harness, and carefully, she started climbing up one of the walls. Climbing was never an issue for her, but neither trees or fences were ever this high.
At a certain point, she stopped and looked down. She seemed very high up now, and she was now aware of how her arms were starting to ache.
Should she keep going? But till how long, and how could she climb up when the wall was at an incline?
karasuno
The courts offered a variety of sports that caught his eye. Jim didn't know how to play them all, but he recognized most, and he definitely recognized the young girl holding up a tennis racket, serving a ball over and over, all on her own.
"Don't suppose you're looking for a partner?" He called out as he approached the court, and he smiled when Felicity looked over at him. "That's not nearly as fun when you're playing by yourself."

[ Naminé, in light of the nature of her previous existence, is far less used to walking (even on your run-of-the-mill sidewalk) than the average person is. She's never run much, or jumped, or skipped, or played or climbed or done anything, really, that didn't primarily involve sitting still. So naturally, all of this physical activity is a bit outside her purview. She spends a lot of time wandering around, peering at things curiously and yet keeping her distance, hesitant to take part in anything she's not familiar with. But then she finds her way to the place with the weird, springy floor, and eventually her curiosity gets the better of her.
Which is fun for a while, really it is, even if she looks rather awkward trying to keep her balance as she clambers slowly through the course. It's an adventure of sorts, even if it's one she's ill-prepared for, and it's all fun and games until she reaches one of the steeper slopes, tries to climb up - promptly slips and then faceplants right into the vinyl with a loud smack and a muffled, 'Oof--!'
It was barely even an obstacle. ]
B. | Pool
[ After exhausting herself on the obstacle course, Naminé seems to have chosen a slightly less strenuous activity. Swimming is still a bit outside her wheelhouse, but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy the water. Sandals off and tucked neatly at her side, she sits on the edge of the pool with her feet dangling into it. Not exactly the prescribed way to use it, but... she seems a little distant anyway, eyes on the water and thoughts turned inward. She'd be an easy girl to sneak up on, right now. ]
C. | Anywhere
[ Naturally, with all this physical activity, there's at least some risk of getting hurt. Keenly aware of this, Naminé keeps an eye out - and if someone happens to skin a knee or take a ball to the face, she'll be quick about stepping over their way, expression concerned. ]
Are you alright--?
D. Wildcard
[ Open for any other shenanigans! She'll be wandering around the whole facility like a creeper for the most part, doing her wallflower thing. ]
C
Except when they don't go too well. Like when a basketball misses the hoop and instead comes bouncing back straight in her face, manging to knock Chizuru off her feet with a yelp. She probably doesn't even register just who is talking to her as she instinctively quickly replies: ]
A.. Ah, I.. I'm fine!
[ Says the one lying on the floor with a super red face from the ball's impact.. ]
