NEW LOCATION: ÁRÆÐI COLISEUM
Who: ANYONE
What: the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum
When: early November (pssh dates)
Where: Tyr's district
Rating: PG-13; please take anything higher than this to a private log!

Tyr volunteered himself to the task of creating a training facility for the Wanderers to explore the powers bestowed upon them by the gods. For the God of Courage and Diplomacy, however, there is far more to such a concept than the simple notion of magic. Today, he unveils the newest attraction in his district: the Áræði Coliseum, where mortals can come to test their mettle in a wide variety of fields.
In Leikrúnhöll, you can find a large facility of smooth, clean surfaces and user-friendly controls to be able to build the right environment to practice your magic safely in. Indestructible targets, magic- or sound-proof rooms, or any other equipment you might need is available by request.
In the Karasuno Courts, you'll find every field or court necessary to play many of Earth's most popular sports, including but by no means limited to football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, and whatever else you can think of! The necessary equipment is available and a healthy number of Asgardian natives are plenty interested in learning the rules.
But because that's not enough, not by a long shot, the rest of the Áræði Coliseum is filled with a vast assortment of bizarre challenges and gravity defying sports. There's even these strange, empty holes that many people seem to cautiously avoid for fear of whatever they may do. Whatever fun, weird, and potentially dangerous challenge you can think of can likely be found in the coliseum in some fashion. American Ninja Warrior courses? You betcha. Go wild with this one.
Tyr built this place to be fun yet challenging, strenuous but exciting, and most importantly: the more people there together, the better it is. Invite your friends to a race through an inflatable obstacle course or team up to show them who's really the best at badminton. Enjoy yourselves!
[ OOC NOTE: This is the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum, a new location in Tyr's district that will be available for use from this point forward! We have a bunch of other new locations being added all the time, so please do let us know if you have any questions or ideas!
And as a side note, we have an IC Q&A about the god powers happening here and an OOC Q&A about the god powers happening here if you need any help or have any question! ]

That is why it makes no sense. Lan Wangji steps closer to peer inside, feeling no compulsion at all like he supposes a normal man might.
"Training for increase in magic ability and yes, fighting if needed," he answers, folding a hand behind his back and straightening up. "But I know of no imminent war. This, this is fun, yes? Don't understand why."
no subject
"You might understand if you try it. I dare you to jump, I promise it's safe. It feels awesome!"
no subject
Not because he was dared.
He slings his sword behind his back, freeing both hands as he steps to the edge and nods at Hector and steps in.
He takes a sharp breath as he free falls in total blackness, only to find himself suddenly shifting course and falling...upwards? After a moment he is back in the room, stepping away from the hole with an even more dubious frown.
"Perhaps Lan Wangji does not understand fun."
no subject
"No? Not exciting? Huh. I thought it was, I got a thrill out of it. What do you like to do?" It's unfortunate for Lan Wangji that the skeleton guy doesn't know the meaning of 'shut up', when he's not half killing himself overusing magic. "Sports?"
no subject
He knows he is defective in this way. Even Brother seemed as if there were things he truly enjoyed. "Have tasks and disciplines at home. Give them to myself here. Because they are things that ought to be done. Doing things simply to do them is not something Lan Wangji understands well. Apologies, Master Hector."
no subject
"Ay, you don't have to keep calling me 'master', I really don't see how I earned that, I can't take credit for weird godly magic." A thoughtful pause... "What did you like to do when you were a kid?"
no subject
"Disciplines were required as a child as well," he says, fully intending to keep referring to Master Hector as Master. He brought a man back from death. That is not a basic level skill. "Play not allowed. Enjoyed...getting to see my mother. Read some of my studies to her. Enjoyed that. What do normal children enjoy?"
no subject
Ouch.
"Oh, everything. Every kid's different, some of them actually like studying. But... playing games, you've got that much right. It's not too late for you to try. "
no subject
"What does Master Hector find fun? As you are now, not just as a child?"
no subject
"Card games, magic tricks, marbles, anything and everything. Pestering the neighbors. Visiting with friends." A nice big shit-eating grin. "Throwing myself into pits."
no subject
"I enjoy spending time with Wei Wuxian, my friend," he says, feeling a little desperately glad to have found common ground with someone. "He enjoys pestering people. Enjoys tricks. I enjoy playing music. It is a discipline but I enjoy it. I do it here, even though it holds no magic. That is the same, yes?"
no subject
"Ay, I like that guy already. He seems like a good friend to have. And... yes." For those with no baggage, those who haven't sworn to themselves never to do it again. For people who aren't him. "See, you do know what 'fun' is, I think. You just didn't realize it."
no subject
The rabbits had truly served no purpose.
"I like animals very much," he blurts out, a little proudly. "I do not eat meat. They truly serve no purpose but they make me happy. I, I had a rabbit colony at home. Secret. It was rebellious of me."
no subject
Duties. Training. Studying. That can't be all one does. That's no way for a person to live, especially a child... he can't help looking sympathetic, with his ridiculously expressive bony face. The bone almost moves like skin would.
"You just have to think of them differently. Their purpose is to make you happy."
