NEW LOCATION: ÁRÆÐI COLISEUM
Who: ANYONE
What: the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum
When: early November (pssh dates)
Where: Tyr's district
Rating: PG-13; please take anything higher than this to a private log!

Tyr volunteered himself to the task of creating a training facility for the Wanderers to explore the powers bestowed upon them by the gods. For the God of Courage and Diplomacy, however, there is far more to such a concept than the simple notion of magic. Today, he unveils the newest attraction in his district: the Áræði Coliseum, where mortals can come to test their mettle in a wide variety of fields.
In Leikrúnhöll, you can find a large facility of smooth, clean surfaces and user-friendly controls to be able to build the right environment to practice your magic safely in. Indestructible targets, magic- or sound-proof rooms, or any other equipment you might need is available by request.
In the Karasuno Courts, you'll find every field or court necessary to play many of Earth's most popular sports, including but by no means limited to football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, and whatever else you can think of! The necessary equipment is available and a healthy number of Asgardian natives are plenty interested in learning the rules.
But because that's not enough, not by a long shot, the rest of the Áræði Coliseum is filled with a vast assortment of bizarre challenges and gravity defying sports. There's even these strange, empty holes that many people seem to cautiously avoid for fear of whatever they may do. Whatever fun, weird, and potentially dangerous challenge you can think of can likely be found in the coliseum in some fashion. American Ninja Warrior courses? You betcha. Go wild with this one.
Tyr built this place to be fun yet challenging, strenuous but exciting, and most importantly: the more people there together, the better it is. Invite your friends to a race through an inflatable obstacle course or team up to show them who's really the best at badminton. Enjoy yourselves!
[ OOC NOTE: This is the grand opening of the Áræði Coliseum, a new location in Tyr's district that will be available for use from this point forward! We have a bunch of other new locations being added all the time, so please do let us know if you have any questions or ideas!
And as a side note, we have an IC Q&A about the god powers happening here and an OOC Q&A about the god powers happening here if you need any help or have any question! ]

"If you fall, you will hurt yourself. Must be a safeguard in here."
He looks around for some sort of padding to place underneath Wei Ying when he spots more of the horrible black holes around the room he'd seen Master Hector fling himself into.
He points at the nearest one and stares up at Wei Ying. "No."
no subject
Still eying the hole, Wei Wuxian climbs sideways to readjust his position. "Surely the gods wouldn't give us these games if they would hurt us, don't they need us?"
no subject
It must be some sort of fitness tool which means Wei Ying is decidedly not supposed to jump off it.
"Come down."
no subject
"Wei Wuxian will come down," he says, "If Lan Wangji will come into the springy village with him."
no subject
"Do not want to go in the springy village," he mutters, fingers clenched as he stares up. It is a place of stupidity and humiliation but the alternative is Wei Ying jumping into a hole and likely maiming himself.
"Fine."
no subject
"Come," he says, seizing Lan Wangji's wrist to pull him along. "We'll take..." Pausing before one of the many training supplies, he selects two short wooden staffs roughly the size of swords. "This," he says, setting one in Lan Wangji's hand. "Not play. Training!"
no subject
However, there is as always something infectious in Wei Ying's enthusiasm, even when it comes at the cost of Lan Wangji's dignity. He follows along, frowning at the staff and not at all understanding how it relates to what they are to do.
"Thought we were going in there," he says, gesturing towards the ridiculous, terrible springy village. "You want to train, instead?"
no subject
"The earth moves, the targets move, we'll move with them. We'll keep a tally and compare." Wei Wuxian folds his arms. "Who do you think will win?"
no subject
Lan Wangji stares on horror at not only the unwieldy surface but the people around them.
He takes a careful step onto the strange surface and immdiately finds himself seated, having immediately fallen in a way he has not since he was learning to walk.
He stares in shock up at Wei Ying and then the people around them.
"No "
no subject
"You see?" he asks, lifting his legs to drop to the ground, using the resulting upward momentum to turn a somersault before he's again seated next to a bouncing Lan Wangji, "It's good practice for balance. If you can strike a target on such a surface, what couldn't you do on solid ground?"
no subject
"Will look ridiculous," he complains as he wobbles, tensing every muscle until he is finally upright. "For play. Not training. Other people are not training."
no subject
"Does it matter what they think of you?"
no subject
He knows he should not. Back home he did not care if others found him cold or aloof or arrogant or strange. He could be all of those things and felt perhaps the distance was a good thing. But he has never been able to stomach embarrassment.
It has been like that too long. It is prideful.
"Hit target with staff," he finally says, wobbling over closer to the strange pillars. "Race against each other. Timed."
no subject
Then, "Fight!" Wei Wuxian announces, bounding across the bouncing square to assault three pillars in quick succession, laughing when momentum carries him face first into the wall.
no subject
It is almost impressive.
He cannot think of another way to do this, the targets are just out of arms reach and the only thing to do is...bounce. He grips his staff and takes two careful steps forward before bending his knees and launching upwards, tapping the target in precisely the center and dropping back down. Even after the task is completed he continues to bounce lightly, unable to get it to stop. He knows his face is burning and he looks over for Wei Ying, feeling very odd.
no subject
"Six to one, Lan Zhan!"
no subject
He backs up against the wall and takes two long strides before stomping as hard as he can, sending himself flying forward. He strikes one and then two before twisting in the air to strike two more on his way down.
His hair is entirely mussed and his robes twisted but he sticks the landing as best as he can before looking back up. "Six to five."
no subject
With his face, but, "Ten to five."
no subject
He runs at the pillars close to the wall, bouncing hard and striking two before planting his feet against the wall and flipping backwards and up to strike two more. The landing is as clean as he can hope for. He'd rather lose than land on his face.
"Ten to nine," he says, giving a proper, low bow to his opponent. "Unable to beat Wei Wuxian."
no subject
"We should have wagered on the outcome."
no subject
"There is more to this thing," he says, gesturing towards the sprawl of bouncing nightmares before them. "Lan Wangji will continue with you, as your prize. If Wei Ying desires."
no subject
"This actually is useful," Wei Wuxian muses. "It will help us learn to leap and dodge without the help of flight."
no subject
He is not frightened of it, the challenge is interesting but it is so hard to let go.
"Will Wei Ying truly not think differently of me if I fall? If I look ridiculous?"
no subject
no subject
He nods, taking Wei Ying's words to heart and stepping forward. "Different for Wei Ying. People can tell who can be humiliated and who cannot."
One foot comes out to test the first ball, not yet far enough out to risk the swinging column. It feels very unsteady. The only way to do this is with speed. He watches the timing of the swings for a few long moments before darting forward, keeping his steps as light as he can as he dips and sways, twisting to avoid the columns. He manages to make it all the way to the last ball without contact but the column clips his leg and he only just manages to land on the other side, flat on his back.
