Who: Cadfael and you (will math format)
What: Getting a routine
When: 7/4-7/11
Where: Various districts
Rating: tbd
Sigyn's district: outside the cottages
Without the constant routine of life in the Abby, Cadfael was, if nothing else, grateful for being provided with seeds and tools to start a garden-or two or three. The ground here was perfect for starting them, however late it was for the usual growing season. After some weeks being here, here, he already had some plots set and furrowed, with tiny seedlings already sprouting from the earth. Admittedly, he had helped them along the way with the 'power' granted to him by Lady Sigyn, but otherwise they seemed to be growing and thriving as they normally would otherwise-that was all that mattered. The building they called the hospital was in need of a stock of medicine, the basis of which came from various roots and herbs grown, collected and processed, and he would help them in any way he could.
Anyone with reason to go by the during the morning or later in the evening would see a stocky built, old man in plain clothes, working at a garden. With the weather and only one set of robes, Cadfael felt obligated to dress more as an ordinary man, then a monk.
Heillhaus : Frigg's district:
Whenever Cadfael wasn't in the garden or collecting plants, he was in the hospital, learning the newer techniques, sanitation, and tools. He knew about keeping tools and wounds clean, but also why wounds became infected and something called germ theory. Having to relearn over the humors wasn't easy for someone his age, but it was work that kept the brain sharp-and it did mean no one relied on bleeding nearly as much, to his relief
When he wasn't studying with the other students, he was in one of the labs, marveling at just how advanced and easier the tools and labels made everything. Some remedies still had to be made by hand of course, and he had to be careful labeling what they were and how much was required per dose.
Library: Odin's district
With most of his work taking place in the hospital, Cadfael only came to the library to read up on things that didn't have much to do with medicine, but helped a lot. Any books to do with what was called the sciences, so that the doctors wouldn't have to remind him all the time. The various diseases there were and just how the plants he worked with did help to treat them. One might have thought that such knowledge would cause him to question his faith in God, but far from it. Even the scant bit of knowledge only reminded him of how complex the will of God was, and how humans could only hope to gain such knowledge in a few hundred lifetimes and not come close.
Above all, he could be found at one of the tables, writing in one of the blank books. Now that he understood the why and how, he felt obligated to share and record what he knew of various plants and their medicinal uses.

Well, that's what he was figuring out anyway. "Well, until now, I believed they were just myths."

"If we've come from different worlds, it may be impossible to tell!" They muse. "But it's interesting how so many different places can have such similar stories, no?" If nothing else, it suggests there's a bit of common ground for all of them.

"Does your kind take liquids? I have a dried mint and fennel brew that is rather refreshing, and it is getting rather hot out."

Fran's head tips, blinking up from the garden bed to glance at Cadfael. "Hm? We can drink, yes!" Their smile only grows, prompting the one more appropriately dressed for the heat to stand up with him. "That sounds lovely, if you're offering." A simple nod to suggest they'll follow.

He led the boy inside the cottage, still luxurious by all accounts from what he was used to. "The ability to have running water indoors is miraculous."

"It's quite the marvel! These houses have such convenient enchantments in them... " Their head turns about, looking for something before pointing. " Like those!" Otherwise known as lights.
Still, their head drifts a bit to peer around the rather cozy looking cottage, seemingly quite pleased with its design. "These are nice homes~ They look more like what I might have found in my world!"

And given his own work, neat and tidy is something he appreciates.
He lead the young man into the kitchen/dining area. If he chose to follow him instead of being seated at the time, he wouldn't mind. "Please, make yourself comfortable."
Cooking with the ovens was still something to grow accustomed to, but atleast he knew how to brew drinks.

"Mhm- Of course, I've never been inside one before, until we arrived here. But they looked similar on the outside!" They return, waiting until it seemed like Cadfael was almost ready to take a seat at the table, sliding out a chair and settling down with a content smile.

"Odd ones... They're homes with round doors, hidden inside the hills! They feel more like a nest or den than a human home. It's nice." They return, even beaming towards the man. "Perhaps it's typical for Honir, the houses can be quite tricky to find if you don't already know where they are."
